A guru is simply a teacher, someone who leads a life that is a model for our own – who teaches us from his or her own life experience.
I have two gurus, although they are not yogis. When I need inspiration to be more disciplined in my practice, I meditate on Mahatma Ghandi. When I need to be more gentle, loving, and kind – I meditate on S.N. Goenka (Vipassana meditation teacher – read his eulogy by Jay Michaelson).
Who do you consider to be your gurus?
